WHY WE BUILT THIS

We got tired of buying the same disc twice a week

An abrasive cut-off wheel is built to destroy itself. Every cut grinds a little more of it away, until the thing that started at four inches is the size of a coin and cuts at half the speed it did on day one.

That is normal for abrasives. It is also why the box empties, why each cut takes longer than the last, and why the thinnest, most worn wheel is the one most likely to come apart in your hands.

We wanted the opposite: a disc where the steel body stays and only the cutting edge does the work.

HOW IT IS BUILT

Diamond grit on a steel body, not a block of bonded grit

Diamond is harder than almost anything you will cut, so it grinds through material instead of being worn down by it. Bond that grit to a steel body and the disc keeps its diameter: the last cut runs at the same rim speed as the first, and it reaches the same depth on day one hundred as on day one.

The rim is where the specialising happens. A continuous rim leaves glass and mirror without chips. A turbo rim bites into steel. A segmented rim vents heat so concrete and granite cannot glaze the edge. A finer rim enters tile glaze cleanly instead of breaking it out.

All of them are 4 inch with a 5/8 arbor, rated to 12,225 RPM, so they fit the grinder you already own.

Here is the part most brands leave out. Run a disc too hot and the rim glazes over and stops cutting. Twist it sideways in the cut and the body can crack. Put the carving disc on metal and you will ruin it. No disc survives being used wrong, and ours is no exception.
